drill rigs
Drill rig controls vary in complexity from quite simple to sophisticated systems requiring status displays, and CANOpen networks. What they have in common is that they demand a robust radio control that can operate reliably in adverse conditions of temperature, vibration, and dust. The Dynamic series remotes are the perfect choice, and available with a variety of controls and options to suit the needs of drill rigs. Available with and without graphic screens, and with CANOpen interface if needed, the FJR and FJM transmitters have some features well-suited to the application. For example, the operator can use one of the proportional paddles to control the drill speed. But once set up, with the press of a button the speed can be memorised for hands-free operation. Alternatively, we offer a special friction-lock joystick that can maintain a constant speed hands-free, or be finely adjusted as needed. - IP65 transmitters and receivers - Rugged fibreglass-reinforced nylon housings - Frequency-hopping spread-spectrum radios for high reliability, interference resistant links - STOP protected to PLe / Cat 4 / SIL 3 - Unexpected motion from standstill protected to PLd / Cat 3 / SIL 2 - 11 hour run time on a single 4hr charge - Speeds teachable from the transmitter - Cable-control option (for when radio use is prohibited)
Complex control systems for drill rigs can be built rapidly using our programmable control systems, HMIs, and distributed CAN nodes. There is increasing awareness in the industry about workers in close proximity to drill cages and rod- handlers. The Fusion-S safety PLC can control such hazards up to safety level SIL2.
